It isn't really an early state. It is post FL, and on the same day as MI, Feb 28th.

The good news is Romney might be able to get a bounce if he wins AZ and MI strongly enough that could lead to victories in CO, WY and VA, which are most likely the states that would be up in the air in a Perry versus Romney race.

Romney still needs to regain and hold that lead in NV or take over the lead in IA or something.

The poll is dated.

Perry committed political suicide in Orlando.

The LDS Church claims about 400,000 members in Arizona, or about 6% of the population. This is a slightly smaller share than in Nevada, where it's closer to 7% (according to the LDS Church, again) and where 2008 exit polls found that 25% of caucus participants were Mormon.

I'd estimate that Mormons represent about between 10-20% of Republican primary voters in AZ.

Finally, somebody polls Arizona.

I expected better from Perry here but I suppose that a large share of the R primary electorate is either on Social Security, hates state benefits for illegal immigrants, or both.
