Hello, I am speaking on behalf of the Phil/Tmth campaign:

This game is all about having fun, and that's what Phil and I are doing by running it. I've had my share of serious campaigns in this game, and they're nice and all, but shoot, this game is all about having fun, making some friends, and maybe learning a little. It shouldn't be lying awake at night plotting how you can win over those one or two swing voters.

Atlasia will be in good hands for the next four months under our administration. We will focus on having a strong, positive relationship with the Senate, creating a task force to ensure all parts of the Wiki are up-to-date (I will specifically be in charge of this), and work with The People and Senate to create big-time game reforms that will make our game better as a whole. Simply put, we're tired of the status quo. We're ready to get hot and sweaty for Atlasia.

The current slate of candidates has certainly been underwhelming - this wasn't the exciting election cycle we all hoped for it to be. Imagine a perfect Atlasia...go ahead, imagine it. What is a KP/TMTH administration going to do? We're going to take that imagination and turn it into a reality.

Thank you. Liberal Party, you have a perfect opportunity here to say no to the status quo and really shake up this game for the better. I encourage you to take this opportunity and vote to endorse the ticket that has Keystone Phil on top and Tmthforu94 on bottom. Smiley

I have to be honest, this has got to be the most disappointing presidential campaign in all my time here.
You are absolutely right. But rest assured, Keystone Phil and I are here to change that and create a better and stronger Atlasia, void of thugs and criminals.

I place my hopes with the Liberal Party caucusgoers. Tongue As always, I encourage all involved to reflect on my proposals in contrast to my opponents, and to remain true of the progressive principles at the heart of the Liberal Party.

Present.

Mr. chairman, I would like to propose that the Liberal Party adopt in its platform support for Virginia, Kentucky, Oklahoma, and Missouri being made part of the IDS. Smiley

Is this a serious proposal? :/

Yes. Grin

I know it wont pass, but I feel obligated as patriarch of the Imperial House of Jbrase to push for a pro-IDS platform.

Good evening, friends.

As most of you know, I have been lying awake for most of the night thinking about how I can win over those last two swing voters, quickly PMing them asking for their votes and then ferociously sitting on the edge of my seat until they respond. This election means that much to me.

But my opponents are right. This game is about having fun. That is why I am running with Marokai. You see, we all need to have fun in Atlasia, from the President to the legislator. And that's what we have painstakingly worked on when crafting our platform for weeks and weeks, and we intend to attempt to implement those proposals if we are given the honor of serving as this country's next president and vice president. We want to work to make Atlasia better. We need dedicated officials who can make that happen. Both Marokai and I have had long careers in Atlasia working for progress in this game. We have a record of not being afraid to change things. Under out careful watch, we hope that one day, every boy in girl in this game will have a voice and feel important. Long gone will be the days where regional legislatures will be known as stepping stones, and people feared to serve in them because they weren't "flashy enough." The People of this nation deserve better, and indeed, they will get better.

I know this party embraces progress, and regardless of whether you personally like me or my running mate, give our ticket a chance. Give us a chance to show you that the status quo is not something we must accept for the rest of our time, but rather it is something we build from for a better future. Marokai and I have worked tirelessly to change Atlasia through our careers. We have held hands in the senate, pushed reforms no one else thought would work, and shared those special moments together only two men can share. We are dedicated to this game - hell, we can't leave even if we tried. So consider us - the original true loves in this game. I have been taking it on the bottom far longer than tmth ever could dream of, and I have enjoyed every moment and every intellectual thrust.

So this election, don't settle for safe. Be bold. Let's do this together and let's take Atlasia to that level we all thought we could reach when we blew up this game a year ago. Consider Maroduke. It's the best a man can get.

Welcome to the Iowa Presidential Endorsement Caucus!

To begin, please select one ticket from the list below.  The ticket you declare will be the group you are counted in for the first round of the caucus.  If no candidate attains a majority in the next twenty-four hours, I will motion to extend the convention an extra one, two, or three days and request a second from two delegates.  In the next round, the ticket/s with the fewest supporters will be eliminated and the caucus will continue.  The ticket that attains a majority of delegates will be declared the winner of the Iowa Caucus and receive the Liberal Party's official endorsement.

Delegates who have not signed in yet may still do so in order to vote.  (Screw quotas; we're not doing them.)

Delegates, your choices are as follows:

  • GPORTER (Federalist Party-TN) (Write-in)
  • Marokai Blue (Labor-IA) / Senator Duke (The People's Party-SC)
  • Kalwejt (John Engle Party-SD) / Wolfentoad (Liberal-CA)
  • Winfield (Independent-RI) / Simfan34 (The People's Party-NY)
  • Al Widdershins (Reality or Nothing Party-West Virginia)
  • Cathcon (Federalist Party-MI) / Spamage (Federalist Party-OR)
  • Keystone Phil (Fratelli d'Atlasia-PA) / Tmthforu94 (Federalist-IN)
  • Undecided

In addition, we will now vote on party leadership positions and platform/bylaw proposals.

Esteemed members of the Liberal Party

I have been looking forward to this opportunity since I received the invitation to speak at your convention.

Unfortunately, the time set for addresses conflicted directly with a very important appointment I had for Tuesday evening, and the day was occupied with professional commitments.  This is not an excuse, merely a statement of fact.

Nevertheless, having only arrived home a short time ago, I will make a statement to the Liberal Party even at this late hour.

For anyone who knows anything about me, they will know that I have long championed the causes of liberty and equality.

I have a passionate belief that the most helpless and most vulnerable in our society must be treated as well as anyone else, and that government has a valuable role to play in accomplishing this goal.

In fact, I believe that government has a very important role to play in many fields of society.  Government should ensure the defense of the nation, education, health care, the social safety net, regardless of one's station in life.

I will always advocate for a free society, but as well for a compassionate society.

A self serving attitude is not a trait to be admired.  Rather, respect for all will move society further ahead for the good of all.

I will, of course, be honored to receive any support and endorsement from the Liberal Party.

Thank you and good night.

Being neutral is okay, FTR.  You can caucus with the 'undecided' group and change your vote at any time.

FTR, I just noticed you guys are about to pick Wolfentoad as your new party chair. An excellent decision - I look forward to seeing the Liberal party grow and prosper under his leadership.

One thing I should have mentioned in my speech -- I am sorry that the Liberal Party has not gron as I had anticipated it to during my tenure.  While Wolfentoad, myself, and others were able to recruit countless people to register in all regions, we were ultimately unsuccessful in maintaining the rate of growth we enjoyed when this party started.  I reiterate my hope and confidence in the likely to-be-Chair.  Right now, I am not sure how much longer I will stick with the Liberal Party in its current state, but I hope it can become a successful party again when it officially unveils its plan that's currently in the works -- when and if that plan becomes a reality.

I am going to motion to extend the convention if neither ticket has a majority.  I would appreciate two delegates to stand by in case they are needed to second.

Why?

I don't want to feel "obligated" to support my party's candidate in every race Tongue  I like my independence.  That may sound like a silly reason to drop out, but there it is.  I'd feel bad if I was Chair or Vice-chair and didn't support my party's candidate.  It'd feel like I was abandoning him/her.  But that's just me Tongue
