Brownback was finally confirmed to be Ambassador for International Religious Freedom Today. The vote was 50-49, with Pence breaking the tie. Two republican senators were absent. Beyond that, the vote was along party lines.

Say Hello to Gov. Colyer.

The race remains at Lean Republican.

Would Colyer or Kobach be considered the GOP favorite at this point?

Even with incumbency, I'd say Kobach, as he technically has higher name recognition.

Of course, with Colyer now an incumbent, it's possible Kobach drops down to run for re-election instead, or drops down to KS-2 instead.

KKKobach at 29/49 favorables in new Kansas poll. Clown Orman at only 36% favorable. Josh Svaty and Laura Kelly clear 50% favorable.

I think Josh Svaty has the most upside out of any candidate. If you've heard him speak, you know he can energize a room. He's currently doing a college tour and getting a very good reception (front page of the Topeka Capital Journal yesterday). It's all about name recognition and he also has the highest social media reach by far.
