Preemptive calculations have both the Saint and Mr. R elected at quota (thus no redistribution), with Tim and Chardee being eliminated. DTC and Bagel tie for last, with exactly four votes each (Other candidates, with 5, are presumably elected without quota). Not sure what the procedure is here.

EVERYONE FREAK OUT.

For what it is worth, I concede the seat. I have lost, and I also do not deserve this seat as of now after everything. Hopefully this will further show that I am truly sorry and promise to change Smiley.

Also congrats to all those who were elected, and I wish you all the best of luck.

I wouldn't concede yet. You're tied with DTC. What I was saying was not in relation to your potential election, but in relation to the closeness of the race for control of the Chamber.

I'm not even taking that into consideration, even if I somehow won, I do not deserve the seat.

What happens if Bagel removes himself from consideration? Who is then elected?

I believe it would be DTC, which would give the Federalists a one-seat majority in the Chamber

DTC I think.  It looked like he was gonna be elected anyway on second preferences.

To add another level of confusion, the DTC-Bagel head-to-head is:

DTC 15
Bagel 15

Projection: the Federalists will hold the majority in the Chamber of Delegates, with Fairboi's win.

DTC can have the seat, he is more worthy of it now.

This is the amendment Truman noted earlier. It says you can't cast two ballots 'while the voting booth is open'. As the thread is not locked yet, you could make the argument that it is still 'open' even if votes are no longer counting.

That being said, Bagel, if you want to give up on the seat, the cleanest way to do it would be to invalidate your own ballot by posting again in the thread.

Right now the question isn't "worthiness", but it's who the citizens of the South voted for. And the citizens put 15 votes in for both you and DTC.

Well, I am allowed to give up the seat if I want to, right?

I would, but I don't want to screw over other feds that I helped on the ballot in this close race. I don't know how canceling my vote effects others.

Bagel, it doesn't. Diptheriadan has enough of a lead to still win, and Reactionary, fairbol, Saint, and Lechasseur will still be re-elected.

Sorry, I got to class, and after I got out they locked the thread. If I got some numbers and tallies and made sure that feds would hold, because it was a close one, I would have invalidated my ballot.

I don't know how it works at the regional level, but in federal law at least, a concession is considered a tiebreaking vote by the conceding candidate in favor of their opponent. As I recall, TNF once won reelection in this way after tying with Lumine on the final count.

1. Thread is not locked yet.

2.

Governor:

Diptheriadan 23
Peebs 17

Without you it's 22-17.

Chamber of Delegates:

With or without you, TimTurner and Chardee are eliminated.

If you invalidate your vote, you'll be out, and the other 7 candidates would be elected, giving a 4-3 federalist majority.

If you don't, we have to somehow decided whether you or DTC gets eliminated, and the other one gets the 7th spot. 4-3 Federalist majority with DTC, 5-2 with you (but you don't want the seat).

Alright, I think we can (finally!) make a final projection as to who's in the Chamber of Delegates.

Not quite. Now Tim and Bagel are tied in the first round with three each.

I'd assume,  but I'm not sure who gets eliminated first.  Not sure if it changes things, but still.
