This is a very weird election. The map looks like a throwback to the 90's with rural counties supporting the dems, while the suburbs supporting the GOP.

Barrow barely leading in Fulton...

I wonder if election day votes will be significantly different in some of these areas.

That's what Barrow has to hope for.

Maybe the polls suggesting a realignment aren't so insane after all.

I knew you’d be in this thread going full Debbie downer

I can't blame him. This is nonsense.

Looking at this Race I at least can see a reason why Donald Trump is up between 6-8 Points in GA.

The man literally ran a single-issue campaign on abortion in a purple republican local leaning state. Not sure why he wouldn't expect the outcome he's receiving.

Even Cherokee is decent for Burrow. It's Fulton and the deep blue core metro counties and inner ring suburbs that are going to cost him this race. Weirdest special election I've seen.

Does Georgia do something like PA, in listing the candidates home county or something?

I don't see where Barrow can get the votes if that Fulton number doesn't change. He is doing better than excepted in the rurals, but he isn't winning them.

You'd think he'd be kicking ass in the Atlanta metro, but getting destroyed in the rurals then.

Any theories why Barrow is doing so well in rural Georgia?

Curious about Dekalb and Cobb.

Augusta area seems completely fine and partisanally normal for Dems. But Gwinnett and Fulton...

He was a congressman for some of them. Also he was listed first and this is a nonpartisan race. Otherwise I have nothing.

Nope, just the candidate name and whether or not they're the incumbent.

That’s a good theory. This would probably look more like a typical race had they had a D or R next to them

It's a nonpartisan race with little $$ spent compared to Wisconsin. Still concerning for Dems.

Hm, Fulton moved to Barrow +6 with some E-day in. I wonder if E-day will be a bit more 'typical' partisan for the Dem areas.

A) i would wait until the end to make any calls like that
B) even with that being said, the dynamics are so funky here that no, this would not be concerning

Honestly I would venture to say that if the result is Pinson less than 10, it's not bad at all for Dems all things considered, and certainly doesn't point to Trump being Biden by upper single digits in a *partisan* race

I am sticking with what I said going in.  No effect on how I see the state going in November.
