To be fair, the world seems to be in a worse place in 2024 than it was in 2020. At least in 2020 everyone was united against the virus.

That's the issue. People don't give credit to Biden for his accomplishments. They'll support his individual policies yet will vote for Trump. Biden has done far more for WWC voters than Trump ever did, yet the WWC voters will flock to Trump.

In all fairness, while Biden is FAR more effective at legislating and governing than Obama, Obama didn't have this problem, especially with White Working Class Rust Belt Voters, who always gave him pretty substantial support. Like I bet if Obama had come to visit, Mr. Myers wouldn't have cared about or even noticed the concrete trucks slowing down. Biden needs to find some way to channel his old boss's pizazz, but I don't see how he can do it at this point.

No, no, it’s the voters who are wrong.

Baldwin has been one of the most pro working class Senators. It makes sense she'd have a lot of crossover support with such voters.

I think one dynamic at play here is people already decide if they like Biden/Trump, and then retrospectively come up with reasons to justify their decision.

Biden's rallying slowing down concrete trucks is not a serious reason to dislike Biden, but it's what that voter came up with because he had a pre-conceived mindset he was anti-Biden.

At some point, I just have to let people who are willfully ignorant like this suffer the consequences of their votes. The best modern day example of this might be some of the poorest rural communities in the Country voting for people who want to rid of public education at the state level - these people couldn't afford to send their kids to private schools or homeschool their kids, yet seem to believe somehow these politicians have something better to offer.

It is very easy to be frustrated with these morons in our voting populace, but Biden has to try and reach them, unfortunately.

One thing that may help, probably more so down the line, is that Governors and Senators in individual states appear to be pretty popular, and people have positive attitudes about their states in ways they don't about the collective nation. Maybe an attempt at a reverse-coattail effect is necessary?

Essentially meaning that Biden should be campaigning his ass off with Cooper, Hobbs, Shapiro, Warnock, Whitmer, etc. It needs to be made clear that Biden working with Governors and Senators helped improve states. It's why I think surrogates and state party organizations are a hidden advantage for Biden more than Trump. With Trump, Republicans only care about him.
