I've never been into the goth fashion, but I've always had a fondness for some of the music. Mostly freedom genre.

Really quite neutral. If Joy Division counts, then certainly a freedom genre, but I can take or leave most 80s goth; as an 80s indie fan the Smiths and Housemartins do much more for me than the Cure or Cocteaus.

As of two weeks ago, I proudly own a Cure concert t-shirt that my best friend bought in his recent tour of North America - which was notably inexpensive considering who was playing. Robert Smith is a genuine guy who loves his fans and doesn't give actually give a damn about fame or fortune - especially at his age since he knows he's made it.

The second example I posted is more dark cabaret but it just barely fits, I think.

I didn't find out they were doing a North American tour until after the whole 'registered fan' sign up thing ended, so I couldn't go. I'm still salty! I feel like going to the New Orleans show would've been a vibe.
