maybe it has to do with the fact that most Conservatives would be happier with him than Mike Huckabee 

Just where do you get that assumption? Huckabee is far more conservative than Warner And either way why do you say "most" conservatives? Do you have any support for that claim?

Perhaps you mean "most conservatives on this Web site"? But among conservatives overall, I seriously doubt your claim that they prefer Warner (a moderate Democrat) over Huckabee (a conservative Republican).
