Through cross-filing, Jordan was nominated under both the Republican and Democratic tickets.
Frank C. Jordan would die in office on January 18, 1940. The governor, Culbert Olson, appointed Paul Peek on March 1, 1940 to fill the vacancy and Peek served the remainder of the term.
