- State Question 776, which was placed on the ballot by the Oklahoma Legislature, was designed to increasE the state sales tax by one percentage point to generate a predicted $615 million per year for education funding.
- Ballot language: "This measure adds a new Article to the Oklahoma Constitution. The article creates a limited purpose fund to increase funding for public education. It increases State sales and use taxes by one cent per dollar to provide revenue for the fund."
