Did Perry fall asleep again? He has only had 1 or 2 questions so far

Romney is going to lose his lead to Cain in Iowa, and Paul will be in 2nd..I think Newt and Bachmann might go up.

Finally a substantive debate, I'm actually interested in what the candidates are saying for once. I like that they're holding all of the candidates' feet to the fire. I firmly expect Cain to make a big gaffe tonight.

Funny thing - this year he's been very consistent.

If I'd never heard of Mitt Romney until 2011 I'd be very impressed.

IDK. He's fast on his feet and clearly much better briefed now. Could be, though.

Uh oh. Romney, don't mention Bush. That never happened, remember?

You're more likely to hear these candidates mention Franklin Pierce than W.

Franklin Pierce was the best 14th president this country has ever seen. Tongue

Cain brought up Rich Lowry.  Is that the same Rich Lowry from the conservative publication called "The National Review"?

No, it's "Lowery" - http://blogs.wsj.com/washwire/2011/09/18/shhhh-its-herman-cains-secret-kitchen-cabinet/

Thanks for the link

- Where is Perry?
- Gingrich is "winning," but I hope that those fact-checkers we saw before the debate are looking at what he said about the Fed
- Romney's worst debate yet (though not a disaster)

Romney defended some of the indefensible to the Republican base. That will cost him later on when the primaries get closer to start.

I think Bloomberg is making all of the other networks look stupid and foolish right now.

They are showing first hand how stupid "Give me your answer on how to fix the economy in 1 minute" questions. Thank God some network has actually realized that longer answers are more interesting.

This is supposed to be a "family style discussion"...

Cain, Romney and Newt are the arguing uncles.

Bachmann is the phsyco aunt.

Perry is the drunken husband of Aunt Michelle who is reffered to as "Michelles husband" instead of Uncle..

Huntsman is the stoned cousin; Santorum is the closeted gay cousin. They are Rick and Michelles kid.

And Paul is the kind grandad who still makes sense.

This is pretty spot on. Btw is Romney going to take the plunge now, because he defended TARP? Or is it going to be the same deal as his MA governor healthcare bill, since he qualified as Bush's plan?
