I must admit I'm not too familiar with Chappaquiddick, but voted FF because I appreciate his wonderful stances and actions. Impressive that despite coming from a privileged background, he did so much for the less fortunate.

Oh you mean pretty much block the one stump issue he had going just because a Republican President agreed with it, stampede the efforts of Jimmy Carter left and right on pretty much every issue while he was president (including on UHC again), followed by the nastiest primary challenge this side of 1924 in 1980?

You have to be kidding me.

Carter dropped the ball on healthcare, and never seemed that committed to it

Without getting into details, HP no doubt.

If his last name was not Kennedy, he would never have been elected to the Senate.

That's what his opponent said in '62 and he lost. I don't understand why people bash him for it? What do you want Teddy to do? Despite his immense wealth he spend his life fighting for universal healthcare, union rights and increased minimum wage, compared to so many other wealthy (I'm talking Kennedy level wealth) who use their time to get tax cuts.

If Churchill's last name wasn't churchill he wouldn't of been our wartime PM, if RFK wasn't a Kennedy he wouldn't of ran the most inspiring race that the US has ever seen and if Rockefeller wasn't a rockefeller New York wouldn't have a decent governor.

Please, you need new attacks on Teddy. Not one's used in 1962

I don't see how any decent person could vote FF.

The way Ted handled Chappaquiddick was horrible and more of a revealing tell of his personality than his decades in public service.  Any decent man would've felt enormous unmerciful guilt if they had part in the death of a young woman who looked up to and had a lot of faith in them.  If Ted Kennedy was a remotely decent man he would've broke down in tears on camera and resign office in shame.

Instead what he did was look into the camera, deny that he had any alcohol in his system, and then wonder aloud if there was such a thing as a "Kennedy Curse".

Nobody expected Kennedy to be Superman that night, but that never exempted him from being a real man in dealing with the consequences.

Running against an incumbent President of your own party is one thing, but being an ass about it is another. HP.

Proof that one can be both at the same time.

One of the reasons that Carter lost (among Iran and other things) was Kennedy's jumping into the race effectively dividing the Democratic Party.

A very horrible person, and literally a murderer, not just of Mary Jo Kopechne, but of all the people left at the mercy of the HMOs.

Sweet Christ, knock it off.
