Not sure if I should do a Nathan map or a realisticidealist map.  I'll just do realisticidealist, since he made one. Tongue

President Jones's term is plagued with issues through no real fault of his own, but Senator Nathan of Massachusetts decides to challenge him in the primaries regardless. Nathan's stridently left-wing and somewhat agrarian economic outlook and eclectic stances on a few social issues that depart from liberal Democratic orthodoxy win him the Iowa caucuses, but the President is able to run up margins with more left-libertarian primary voters in New Hampshire, and after a disappointingly narrow win with South Carolina's heavily rural black primary electorate and heavy losses in Florida (due to the Senator's barely-hidden disdain for the state) and Nevada (Las Vegas), Nathan all but suspends his campaign, winning a few more primaries in sparsely populated Western states and his native Massachusetts before endorsing the President.

Who are you running against?

Ah, it was a primary between me and Alfred F. Jones, sorry if that wasn't clear enough.

Sorry for not posting a map, I had some trouble getting it to work correctly on this computer, which is not my usual one.

*skip*. I'll try to do another with a proper map in a few posts.

Thanks for the win, Mr. Senator, but you were supposed to be facing realisticidealist.

No need for me to make a map against Nathan. Nathan would kick my ass. I think I may be able to nail down Wyoming and Alaska. After that, it becomes pretty tough. Un-closeted atheists, who have never married, and are very hostile to farm subsidies to boot, are electoral road kill. And I am too right wing to do more than run better than usual for a Pub in the more left wing, less religious, more tolerant zones. It would be a bloodbath really. Heck, I would even lose the LDS vote. Thank you. Smiley

Breaking the rule so everyone gets some map action. Grin

Me- 219
Torie- 217
Afleitch- 102

OK, so I also "win". That isn't necessarily the case. We can assume either Torie or Afleitch wins when the House inevitably votes someone in.

Once again, Democratic primary.

Though the lefty candidate Snowstalker is favored by the base (or at least the more economically-leftist base), Thomas has a wider geographic base of support, as well as support from most of the Democratic establishment. Snowstalker takes Iowa, Michigan (labor support), and Nevada (labor plus Hispanics), but Thomas D nabs New Hampshire, South Carolina, and Florida. Super Tuesday favors Thomas D; though both take many states, D wins the big ones. After sweeping on March 4th (except a narrow Snowstalker victory in Ohio), Snowstalker drops out, but still wins PA.

Early polls show a lead for Rep candidate Pingvin, but throughout the campaign, he commits numerous gaffes making him come across as bigoted, xenophobic and authoritarian. Even though I am also perceived as an extremist, independents eventually swing on my side out of scare for Pingvin (I would make some efforts to look more moderate). The margin is close due to high Pingvin percentages in the South, but overall the EC is solid.

Oh sorry. Well, skip me then. My mind just refuses to conceive a scenario in which Pingvin wins.

(what a dumb rule anyway: where's the fun if the winner is predetermined)

Whoops, forgot the EV totals, but you win. Lots of Southerners defect due to your libertarianism and bisexuality (this combined with my Southern strategy flips some states), but a weak economy leads to the downfall of the left-wing Snowstalker campaign.

ChairmanSanchez (Constitution-FL)-286
Averroes Nix (Independent-NY)-252

I gave myself an edge in Florida simply for being a native, but the fact is, Florida is a total tossup, and the race between Averroes Nix and myself would be Bush-Gore close. I think I would take Michigan and Wisconsin due to my protectionist views, while I would lose most majority Hispanic states due to my hardline views on immigration.
