Dad just got back inside from walking him for 20-30 minutes.  I just fed him and changed his water for the final time tonight.  He should be set for the night.  We're developing a plan to get him a lot of exercise after I get back.

Ever stop to think maybe he wanted to walk the dog?  He loves that dog just as much as I do.  When I get back, all three of us will get out there and walk with him and play with him and fetch with him.  This dog will prove to be good for all three of us as we are for him.

Yeah, he breaks his back from morning until night, has to go shopping for dog houses during his lunch break, has to support a retired wife and a stay-at-home son, gave up his bedroom so his son could sleep in it, doesn't sleep in the same bed as his wife (probably hasn't had sex in years and years, and his puritanical religion probably prevents him from brief relaxing himself), and even has to walk the dog for half an hour when he gets home! Meanwhile his son gets to go on fun vacations to Kenya for half a month while lounging around the house all the day.

It's also common courtesy not to ramble about one's personal life in the company of strangers. If Bushie doesn't want people calling him out as a scumbag animal abuser and alerting the authorities, maybe he shouldn't brag about his revolting behavior on the internet.

I don't necessarily disagree.  I've said things could be a whole lot better than what they are now, but they sure could be a whole lot worse.  We're doing what we think is best right now, even though that's an unconventional approach.  After I get back from Africa there will be starting up some wholesale changes.  Changes such as activity level, education, beginning of the preparation for Fort Worth.

This has been a really dark season. Between Bushie's poor father, who seems at odds with Bushie and his mother when it comes to everything including the enchilada casserole, and the poor little puppy that's left outdoors in the Oklahoma heat, this is a mess.

The main character is really an unlikeable guy, sort of like Walter White's transformation. Bushie is morphing into a real Heisenberg. Before, I thought Bushie was a good guy who's heart was in the right place, but now, I am not so sure about that.

I obviously trust the SPCA more than the guy who can't string two sentences together coherently. Leaving a puppy outside all day is abusive. Dogs are social animals, and they depend on close attention from and interaction with their family, particularly at an early age.
