So just to clarify, this amendment would legalize abortion at full term?

For that and many, many other reasons, I strongly object to this bill and will be voting against it.

I'm not comfortable allowing third trimester pregnancies.

I know I'm not Gass3268, and I don't pretend I'm speaking for him here, but I strongly object to limiting abortions at any stage of pregnancy. I do support the intent of this amendment, but I think it should go further -- with a name like "Women's Rights Amendment" we should really do something with it that not only guarantees the right to an abortion, but also guarantees equality before the law for women.

I am glad that Senator Tyrion offered his amendment and I plan to be voting for it if it is declared hostile.

As for the underlying Amendment, I will have to vote no regardless of what changes are made to it. As it stands currently, there has a been a boost to activity of the likes of X, Siren and probably OAM as well thanks to the controversy that this incident has created and thus produces the likelihood of an interesting series of elections in the Mideast. It also opens the potential for a court case in the near future, when we have had precious few cases over the past year (though more then last year obviously), therefore I think it would be a mistake to undercut both of these trends considering the outcome will almost certainly be the same one way or the other on the issue itself.

I understand and sympathize with the motivations even if I disagree fundamentally on the question of life and whether protecting the unborn is important, but from the perspective of the game this is the wrong approach for those who are pro-choice to take.

The killing of any unborn child that could survive outside of the womb is simply inhumane and I would go as far as to say murder. For that reason, I oppose Tyrion's amendment as it does not adequately address that issue.

It's true. I wrote a paper on this subject my junior year in college, and I can confirm there is no scientific evidence, based on my research anyway, that suggests life begins at conception, although it is debatable during the third trimester. Just food for thought. As this is an amendment, my opinion means nothing to any of you, I am sure.

Didn't Nappy and the boys already take care of that a year ago?

You'll have to forgive me, Senator, I must have missed that one while perusing the Constitution.

As the author of a very similar amendment in the Pacific I applaud Senators Napoleon, Gass and TNF for standing against attempts to limit the scope of the bill.

Abstain

I'm not sure I necessarily agree with the change, but it doesn't matter since I'll be voting against this no matter what form it takes.

Aye

While I personally don't support abortions after the fetus becomes viable (excepting life of the mother, obviously) I think even if you did it makes sense to vote for this amendment, because at the moment it's unratifiable (I'm not sure that's a word Tongue).
