*News Flash*

Hello once again, I have done a lot of thinking on who to support in the race to the White House. I look at all the candidates that are left and read and reread their profiles and the whole nine yards. The one that I found out that I am closer to is Rep. Wallace, but his' views that me and him disagree are some of the views I believe in whole-heartedly, so I can't support him. Then after him there were two candidates I wanted to support, Gov. John Mabus and Rep. Chris Soult. One is a Democrat is one is a Republican and at first I just jumped to pick Gov. Mabus because is the Democrat, but then I stop and thought how I believed again. I myself am "Dempublican" Smiley or a "Repubocrat" Smiley or a Dixecrat whatever you want to call it.

So today at 12:43, I Joshua Craddock say to all my supporters out there in America to support........ Rep. Soult. Yes Rep. Soult and I wish him and Gov. Mabus best of luck and I have to say this was a hard desion but in the end I believe I picked the right person.

I'm sorry, but I'm going to have to veto this endorsement.  Not only is it wholly unrealistic, but it also opens up some unmeasurable factors that I won't know how to deal with.  For example, would being endorsed by a Democrat during the primaries help or hinder Chris Soult?  Not to mention that for obvious reasons your delegates and momentum can't be transferred to him either.

I'm afraid you'll have to limit your endorsement to a member of the same party.

If you say so. I'll got with Gov. John Mabus then.

New deadline: this Sunday at 6pm EST.  However, if every candidate decides not to post any campaigns at all, I may make it sooner.  You'll need to say so if you don't want to run a campaign in MI & WA though.

The analyses are now up.  Sorry for the delay.

I try and keep them as brief as possible, and I actually try not to go into too lengthy detail, which I know is what some of you would most likely want.  I just don't really have the time or energy for it, though. Sad

Thanks for using me as the example of what not to do Joe. That makes me feel better.

Are we going to have another one of these? This seems like a one shot deal.

Frankly, I'm a little exhausted already.  But I promise to see it through right to the end.  After that, who knows?  I wouldn't object if somebody else wanted to run something similar and I just kinda helped out here and there.

As for it being a one shot deal, that's pretty much how it is in real life.  But there will still be opportunities for people to help out during the general election campaign.  You might be picked as the running mate, or you could serve in any number of assistive positions to the nominees, e.g. campaign manager, strategist, speech-writer, etc.

Organisation first.

Level three in Michigan please (expensive, but I've always thought organisation is important in elections).

Will work out ads, speeches and campaigning time tomorrow, after some thought (but I intend to do "quite" a bit of all of them).

This is a general word of warning to all candidates.

Do not assume that victory in your home state is guaranteed.  You obviously have a distinct advantage, but that does not mean that you will definitely win.  You will most likely need to put some effort in anyway, or you may find yourself surprised that you lost.

This obviously isn't directly aimed at anybody in particular, but I only say this now because this is the first primary day that any of you are about to fight in your own state, and it just so happens that four of you are doing so now.  But of course, the advice applies to everybody still left in the game.

Does one need to establish campaign organization in order to run an ad?

Nope, that's never been the way of things.  What the campaign org does is boost the effect of your speeches and general campaign time.  The ads are entirely independent of that, and the only thing that determines the effect of the ad is the level of funding you put into it.

Sorry these are all old... except the first one.  I hope that doesn't detract from my momentum... I'm a bit short on time.  Sad  A new Washington speech and ads will be coming along.

The following speech is to be given in Michigan...

---

After spending most of the past few months going round and round the country, it's good to be home.
Seeing as this is my first speech back home, I guess I should explain to you all just why I'm running for President.

Between 2000 and 2005 about 150,000 manufacturing jobs were lost in Michigan and more will go soon. Unemployment has almost doubled (and that's just the official figures. We all know the real rate is far higher). In Detroit and in Flint the curse of poverty continues it's grim march; now almost a third of people in those cities live under the poverty line. I could continue on like this for a while... but I don't want to depress anyone in the audiance. Or myself. I think we all understand that this great state, my home, your home, our home, is in an awful mess at the moment.

What exactly has the political Establishment, what have Congress and the Whitehouse, done to help us?
You know the answer. Nothing. They have not lifted one little to finger to help Us... or other industrial states for that matter. As far as They are concerned, We do not matter. The entire state of Michigan could fall into the Great Lakes and no one inside the Establishment would notice. And if they did notice, they would not care.
I think that the time has come for Us to strike back.

That is why I am running for President.
