Ugh...

Strike 1 battalion from the invasion of Indiana, and consider it to have never left Arkansas.  I'm not doing that run again.

Actually, depending on how you calculate your die rolls, the result might have been radically different had you taken that into account, unfortunately.  Since the second-to-last attack had MAS roll a 4 and a 1 and had Lewis then roll a 6, if you do every roll for each player in a row (i.e., all of the attacker's rolls, then all of the defender's rolls), the result would have been MAS with a 4 and Lewis with a 1, thus resulting in MAS taking Indiana.

EDIT: Come to think of it, actually, that might not have been the case.  In the attack on Illinois, MAS would have rolled a 6 and a 5 and Lewis would have gotten the 4, and then next MAS would have rolled the 3 and Lewis would have gotten the 4, repelling MAS' attack.

Okay, here's how I do the dice rolls.  Using this particular page (which provides different numbers each time it's refreshed), if an attacker is using three dice, I take the three left-hand digits and use those.  If the defender is using 1 die, I use the left of the two digits on the right.

If an attacker is using 2 dice and the defender is using 2 dice, then the two digits on the left are used for the attack and the next two digits right next to it are used for the defense, and the last digit on the right is ignored.

If an attacker is using 1 die and the defender is using 2 dice, then the far left digit is used for the attack and the next two digits right next to it are used for the defense, and the other two digits on the right are ignored.  And so on.

This is how the first attack on Indiana was previously done:

As it happens, the order that those digits originally appeared on the left side of the page was: 1 4 6.  Which means that if the revisionist history was used, this is what would have happened instead:

Hence, MAS would have lost anyway.

I realize that my decision is most likely not going to please everybody (or maybe even anybody), but it's the easiest way I can see of resolving it.  Of course I apologize for making the mistake in the first place.

So....

New map:

General Colin Wixted, it is your turn.  You have 10 reinforcements.

+ [13 states ÷ 3 = 4 reinforcements]
+ [New England region = 2 reinforcements]
+ [Mid-Atlantic region = 4 reinforcements]
= 10 reinforcements

Well, Colin your plan is fairly simple as far as I can see. Place all of it in PA and attack OH-IN-IL-MO-NE

basically, reanimate an extra battalion in AR and leave everything else as is?

Sounds the most reasonable decision possible...

I needed that.  It still won't save Lewis (since Colin is likely to finish him off now), but I had visions of Soulty now that his NAP with MAS is at an end, using his 16 reinforcements (plus his battalions in Iowa, Kansas, and California) to conquer MAS before he could turn in any of those 8 RISK cards I thought he would have after finishing off Lewis.  That definitely would have been game over for me, tho Colin might still have been able to pull out a win such a case.

No... you're still pretty screwed... you seem to not have noticed that, in your "rightous" crusade to beat me back, you have completely cut off Colin, so now he has no choice but to go through you.  Plus he has all his reinforcements from his regions... plus cards... chances are, Colin will have this thing won in 2 turns now.  Thanks for handing him the victory Ernest.  Everyone was in such an uproar about me....

You're the idiot for not getting my five cards before him. (shrugs)

Anyways, taking Hawaii and Texas might be much the easier task than taking Michigan and Florida.

Well that was dumb luck really. Like I said this is the first time I have ever played Risk.

Two turns ago I thought you had things wrapped up.

Once again... why is it that I'm the only person who didn't think I had this thing "wrapped up"?

Do you think I care whether you or Colin wins?  To keep you from winning I had to take a risk that I'd hand Colin the victory.  Now shut up and let me strategerize.
