Arizona and Arizona State are tied, but I'll remove my Sun Devil vote for now for the map unless someone decides to break it. UNM just one vote behind so that will keep going close.

It appears many don't share my enthusiasm for that region, but I'd imagine the next one is going to be even more controversial. Between WVU (riots), Penn State (Paterno), and Pitt (general rep of fanbase), there's sure to be a lot of hate from the forum. Can Carnegie Mellon squeak out an upset victory from those who can't even properly pronounce the first name of that? (That's an -ay- in PA!) Or will there we enough sports fans to fondly remember Marshall and their recent rejuvenation?

They're all pretty middling for me. Only RMU is getting obscene hate.
[1] West Virginia - make for great B12 football rivalries
[2] Penn State - actually do feel bad for football. Big Ten is a plus. Everything else is a joke
--
[3] Marshall
[4] Duquesne
[5] SFU
--
[6] Mercyhurst - Cool that Erie gets a hockey team since it's a logical place but seems kinda boring otherwise
[7] Bucknell
[8] Pitt - I begrudgingly cheered for them until they left the Big East.
--
[9] Carnegie Mellon - thankful for their great contributions to the arts, but no sports and the Pittsburgh factor
--
[10] Robert Morris

For academics, Carnegie Mellon for sure - at least that's its reputation.

For an overall good big state school experience with a good mix of athletics, WVU. Also, Morgantown is a nice town. The campus is located in one spot as well in one corner of the town - it's easy in and easy out. There's also a second campus for things like vet science and a lot of STEM fields, but overall it is contained. And the surrounding countryside is quite nice.

My alma mater, Point Park, didn't have a football team, so I'll vote for Pitt as it was my grandfather's alma mater.
