The survey interviewing was conducted between April 27 and May 1, 2006. The sample error for the survey is plus or minus 4.1 percent. Telephone numbers for the survey were generated via random digit dialing. Respondents were randomly selected from within each household and a screener was used to determine respondents’ voter registration status. The final sample includes 271 Republicans, 246 Democrats, and 53 Independent/other voters (8 voters would not provide their registration).
