Incumbent Gov. Rell Has Solid Lead in Connecticut

In possible general election matchups, the independent Quinnipiac (KWIN-uh-pe-ack) University poll shows:
  • Gov. Rell defeating New Haven Mayor John DeStefano 64 - 21 percent
  • Rell beating Stamford Mayor Dan Malloy 68 - 17 percent.


From January 4 - 9, Quinnipiac University surveyed 1,369 Connecticut registered voters with a margin of error of +/- 2.7 percentage points. The survey includes 433 Democrats with a margin of error of +/- 4.7 percentage points. The Quinnipiac University Poll conducts public opinion surveys in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Florida and the nation as a public service and for research.
