About this Poll

This poll is part of a continuing collaboration between Ohio’s eight largest newspapers: The (Cleveland) Plain Dealer, Cincinnati Enquirer, Columbus Dispatch, Dayton Daily News, Akron Beacon Journal, The (Toledo) Blade, Canton Repository and The (Youngstown) Vindicator. The newspapers have been working together for several years to report on issues important to Ohioans. The poll, conducted by the Institute for Policy Research at the University of Cincinnati, was timed to appear before Gov. Ted Strickland’s State of the State address on Tuesday, Jan. 26.

The poll findings are from a statewide sample, chosen at random, of 808 likely voters interviewed by telephone. The poll was conducted by the Institute for Policy Research at the University of Cincinnati between Jan. 13 and Jan. 19. It has a margin of error of plus or minus 3.4 percent.
