Kentucky Flirts With Bruce, But Appears to Stick With Mitch for Another Six: 72 hours till votes are counted in Kentucky, incumbent Republican Mitch McConnell appears to regain just enough support to be re-elected to his fifth term in the US Senate, according to a SurveyUSA poll conducted for WHAS-TV in Louisville and WLEX-TV in Lexington. Two weeks ago, Lunsford, riding a rising tide that was floating many down-ballot Democratic boats coast-to-coast, had tied McConnell. Today, McConnell recovers just enough ground in Western KY, Eastern KY and North Central KY to claim a 53% to 45% advantage. 1,500 adults interviewed 10/29/08 through 11/01/08. Of them, 1,375 were registered to vote; of them, 616 were read this version of the questionnaire and determined by SurveyUSA to be likely to vote on or before election day.
