Analysis

A strong Southern Democrat like Edwards will give the Democrats victory.

Edwards will probably not win the nomination. Plus he wouldn't be this strong anyway (especially if Fred Thompson from neighboring Tennessee is the GOP nominee; and if Rudy Giuliani is the GOP nominee and Edwards is the Democratic nominee, Giuliani will be winning states in the northeast and midwest that a GOP candidate usually wouldn't plus Edwards' nomination {a liberal trial lawyer} would also nearly guarantee a third party candidate enters the race). And if he was this strong, wouldn't he win his home state of North Carolina as well?

For such a hack, I thought he'd put up a 538-EV landslide.prediction Map

I don't see Virginia, Arkansas, Nevada, Colorado, Missouri, Montana, and Arizona going for Edwards. Richardson or Bayh would be a better choice against Romney or McCain for this map's out come.
