Analysis

11.02.2008 | This is my final prediction.

I am predicting Barack Obama (D-Illinois) will win the 2008 presidential election and become the 44th president of the United States.

Obama will win around 52-54 percent of the U.S. popular vote. John McCain (R-Arizona) will garner between 44-46 percent of the U.S. popular vote. The remaining 2 percent will go to candidates outside the two-party system.

I'm being generous with my predictions. But despite supposed tightening of the polls, it's electoral votes that determine the winner … and pollings showing McCain's home state of Arizona as well as Indiana, North Dakota, Montana, and Georgia now in play is alarming. Same with South Dakota and Arkansas.
