Improved their standing with establishment GOP, but Cruz has helped himself with primary (and especially caucus) voters.

That's arguable.  I think GOP primary voters have shown a significant deference to electability in the past two cycles, and Ted Cruz is not electable.  Now, it's my belief that in light of the McCain and Romney losses their will be a strong push for a more principled conservative to generate excitement, but Cruz would have to compete with other candidates just as principled but much more electable than he.

Yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if the establishment coalesced around a "compromise" so to speak. A principled, articulate conservative like Marco Rubio or Scott Walker, rather than a relative moderate like Christie or Bush or an unelectable whackobird like Cruz or Paul.

In 2008 and 2012 McCain and Romney won because of too many from the conservative wing splitting the vote.  2016 may end up the same, but if a consensus conservative candidate emerges early on, then they could win.

That being said, I don't think Cruz could go all the way. He is sure to self-immolate at some point.

Perry is doing everything possible to show that he's planting the seeds for 2016, as detailed in this article:

I'd love two weeks of Rick Perry 2016. Should be good fun.

Who did Jindal hire to run his new nonprofit?  Jill Neunaber, who helped run Romney's 2012 campaign in Iowa and New Hampshire last year:

Yikes.  "Are we now in the era of royalty again?"  That's the most pointed challenge to Clinton we've seen from any of the other Dem. 2016ers to date.

Wow. I know who isn't gonna be Hillary's VP. Still, it'd be cool if he ran against her.

I like how Schweitzer calls Bill Richardson "Billy".  That's just the kind of folksiness that he'll ride to the White House.  Wink

Jeb Bush asked whether the recent polling showing voter distaste for Washington will impact his decision on whether to run for president:
