Rep. Ciro Rodriguez of Texas for Clinton

His endorsement release was amusingly defensive -- Clinton won his district heavily, he's thinking about his district and not the presidential race, etc. etc. etc.

Well, Ciro and Clinton go way back, so this isn't necessarily surprising.

But Ciro does have to think about his own survival here.  Without decent Hispanic turnout, he's going to have problems, even against whitey.

Is whitey well funded and creditiable? If so, that would be unusual for a Pubbie House challenger in this election cycle.

Whitey is credible - Bexar county commish from the NW part of SA, which is, of course, the GOP hotbed.  Whitey is getting seriously outraised right now, but I don't know whether that's a big deal here. (though money is always a big deal  Smiley)

The CD is really all about ultra-GOP NW San Antonio and the GOP parts of the border area (Medina County) vs. ultra-Dem San Antonio and the Dem parts of the border.  Because most of these numbers are inflexible, turnout is key.

Now whitey won't get the Hispanic bump along the border that Bonilla historically got (or Hispanic GOPer in general), which is why Ciro is in better shape than otherwise, but he needs decent Hispanic turnout, b/c the GOP partisans in NW San Antonio show up for Prez elections.

Obama should pick up at least another one tomorrow. Utah's convention started today and it concludes tomorrow, and it'll choose another add-on for Obama.

I guess this constitutes a pretty scathing dis-endorsement?  Tongue

Her name makes her sound more like a place than a person.

That is all.

I was hoping she'd be hot since she's one of the youngest superdelegates. I have tough time seeing how the chair of Young Democrats of America could NOT endorse Obama, seeing how the membership of the group is no doubt voting. Now if only the College Democrats chairman will endorse.

A Clinton pledged delegate from Maryland has said he will vote for Obama (Jack Johnson, PG County Executive). Which is interesting because Clinton will now start trumpeting her "the votes don't matter" line again.

Also, Ray Nagin has endorsed Obama.

Damn you, Alcon.

Hillarious.

Apparently Maryland has a weird pledged delegate selection process. The state party chooses the at-large pledged delegates only consulting with the campaigns. And Johnson had been an Obama supporter before, prior to December 2007.
