You would have voted for Pierce? He was perhaps the least effective President in American history (spare Bill Henry Harrison).

I never read he accepted the Federalist Nomination. He was backed in 1792 by both the Democratic-Republicans and Federalists.

Washington never accepted a party's nomination and never was a member of a political party.
