So Spain wins their third straight trophy and on the road to that they beat France and Italy for the first time in their history.
And to imagine they were considered losers just four years ago.

Phil's team gets crushed. Looks like a Romney landslide in November.

Well, with the exception of today, it was a good tournament. We've redeemed ourselves though the 0-4 score line wouldn't show that.

Can someone tell me who out of - how many is it now, six? - players with three goals each is the official Golden Shoe recipient?

Torres wins the Golden Boot, because he has 3 goals and one assist, and has played fewer minutes than Mario Gomez, who has the same.

To paraphrase Stephen Colbert, "Spain: one of the best European teams ever or THE best ever?".

Cry

Now, that did hurt.

Well, at least it was deserved. The Spanish were clearly better all along. Though we didn't deserve Motta to get injured...

A deserved and logical victory. Spain dominated this game because they were the better team in terms of tacticts and technical skills. It also helped that they had a goalkeeper who made brilliant saves in decisive moments. Congratulations to Spain!

Just FTR, that was Italy's first defeat in a knock-out match after 90 min. since 1988 and the Euro semifinal against the Soviet Union.

Which is the first knockout match without German involvement that I can actively remember. Cheesy

I'm not really sad we lost (being finalist is great enough after all), but 4-0 was too much.

Since Spain was already going to the Confederations Cup as the past World Cup champ I guess Italy will go to the confederations then right?
