Not really. Netherlands wasn't awarded at least one penalty in the first half it deserved, so it would be more tragic if they had lost.

Well, yes. You (Germany) will have a fun time with them in the Third Place match.

Damn, brutal Red Wedding style destruction of Mexico.

Sneijder, Robben, Proenca & Huntelaar send their regards.

Robben did not earn that penalty. Disgusting display from a bunch of thuggish Neanderthals once again. Hopefully Costa Rica (or Greece if it comes to that) destroys them.

I don't think the Dutch cheat but that was absolutely tragic.

Robben is a notorious diver. No, really, the way this guy falls even when he actually was fouled is hilarious - the penalty he got, and this was a penalty though really not a yellow, being a good and by no means extreme example.
And yeah, he should have gotten that penalty in the first half although no one really could have seen that without a camera closeup. And a yellow for diving earlier in the second, of course.

I think if you asked 10 referees, about 6-8 of them would have given the penalty ...

The Dutch played pretty awfully for most of the match, but I don't think anything unfair happened.

Not only was this a genuine penalty (and so was at least one earlier situation) but it's Mexico that deserves to be called thuggish with all the dangerous tackles they overused.

You know, all these unjustified, sore-loser type accusations against the Netherlands will make me even happier when they're playing in the final Tongue

Ugh, such a shame... Netherlands did a pretty good job in the end, but Mexico deserved to win this.

It's gotta suck to survive the group stage six times in a row and lose immediately in the Round of 16 every single time.

Yeah, though surviving the group stage that many times in a row is itself pretty impressive. I think only Brazil and Germany have longer streaks.

With the Greek goal, the number of goals scored at this tournament has equaled those scored at the last World Cup.
