Self-described "Blue Dog" - whose signature shows concern about there being "few left" of said Blue Dogs - is obsessed with the idea of Manchin (D-WV) losing a race that he's been winning for months, LMFAO.

Tom, what do you think of my question in Post #1272? Curious to hear your thoughts. Smiley

DSCC is sufficiently worried (or cautious) about West Virginia to run ads for Manchin.

Some people here are saying that Manchin will do about the same if not a little worse than Ojeda in the 3rd CD. If this is true, Manchin will probably lose, since those kinds of numbers in WV 3rd would not be sufficient to hold Morrisey back.

Well at least the Manchin ads are going to start airing again there within the next day or so, so imo that means that the democrats still see him as having a decent shot.

Raese fell behind because he called WV voters "hicky". Ojeda isn't going to win and if Manchin does it will be below 50%.

So, Trump and known idiot Rick Perry never produced a plan to save coal and now it's been shelved

https://www.politico.com/story/2018/10/15/rick-perry-coal-rescue-trump-850528

Of course, coal miners can't read so they won't know it until the mines shut down.

On the note of mines shutting down, a small coal company named Mission Coal filed bankruptcy and has shut down a rather large mine in WV-03

https://www.spglobal.com/platts/en/market-insights/latest-news/coal/101518-us-coal-miner-mission-coal-files-for-chapter-11-bankruptcy

And that has the locals up in arms worried about their pensions (of course, their jobs are already gone) and Ojeda has swooped in for the protest.

https://www.wvnstv.com/local-news/wyoming-county/coal-miners-protest-at-pinnacle-mine-demand-answers/1528204203

The one nice thing about the bankruptcy is that Mission coal apparently owes one of Jim Justice's companies $4 million and given how consistently Jim screws people he owes money to, it's nice to see him getting it on the other end.

Nick Saban, Jerry West, and Bob Huggins in an ad for Manchin. This could legitimately move the needle.

I have no update here except to boast that Miles has also come up with "Haunted Manchin" as a pun on Twitter today, more than a month after I did.

I did not know that you could find this many African Americans gathered in WV since there are like very few and I assumed that they would just be spread out among all the white communities. Good to see Manchin reaching out to them though.

Really like WV's phone voting idea that they are trying for the first time this year, going to be interesting.

Been nearly a month since we had an actual non bias poll of this race, it would be nice to have another one soon.

There are a few majority black towns in McDowell County, and I think Bluefield in neighboring Mercer County also has a significant black population.

I've been hearing buzz that President Trump will be headed to the southern West Virginian mines to boost up Morrisey in the final days, big if true, I think in my opinion something may be brewing up in that race... Morrisey is starting to get primed up for a strong rush to the finish.

I've been hearing buzz that President Obama will be headed to the western Massachusetts universities to boost up Coakley in the final days, big if true, I think in my opinion something may be brewing up in that race... Coakley is starting to get primed up for a strong rush to the finish.

Obama was quite popular in Massachusetts, but Trump is like an extension of the trinity in the eyes of West Virginia, not an equal comparison.

He should go to the mine that just shut down and has 400 miners out of work.

Why not? They'd blame Hillary.

RCP moved WV Senate from Lean D to Likely D. Big mistake if you ask me, but they did it.

It actually makes sense, given the new poll that has Manchin up by 16. Next month, it's very possible that he, the Romney-state Democrat from the most Trump-supportive state (bar Wyoming), will win by double digits, at the same time that Heidi Heitkamp, from the second most Trump-supportive state, could lose by the same margin.
