The motion by Sen. Stabenow to send the bill back to committee has failed by a vote of 45-55. Manchin/Heitkamp/Donnelly defect.

Wtf? Why did those three hayseeds defect?

Because they're Republicans

McConnell speaks, says the Senate can debate as late as they want to tonight, but the amendment vote-o-rama will not start until 11:00 AM tomorrow.

Meanwhile, Nelson starts debate on attempt #6 to recommit, presiding republican clearly annoyed at the continuing charade.

Just how many motions to return to committee are going to be brought up?

Hopefully infinite.

Don't be silly. They're just smart enough to know they need to be seen as willing to work with Trump to win again.

That is not true.  This tax bill is unpopular nationwide.  Voting against it will only serve to help vulnerable Democrat senators, especially if Republicans are stupid enough to pass it.

Except it won't really make much of a difference. GOP can just say Donnelly will take your guns and the voters start foaming at the mouth

Note how this wasn't the vote on the final bill.

If this bill actually passed, the working class will notice its heavily negative effects on them pretty quickly, and they will be very mobilized to vote Democrat in 2018 and 2020.

I hate to pick Feinstein of all senators to link but apparently, Rethuglicans are delaying the vote.

I can imagine that they are so desperate....that they might literally pass the bill while it's still being typed up with typos and mistakes. These people are insane

Yeah, Feinstein's right here. As I posted above, McConnell said no vote-o-rama until 11 AM on the Senate Floor. May or may not mean anything since there were some comments about not wanting to make McCain stay up all night.

Our senators should be healthy enough to work at night

He said he'd vote no if they keep him up past his bedtime.

You gotta love McCain's vindictiveness, lol. Maverick under Bush and Trump, right wing obstructionist under Obama.

Yeah, I was actually thinking earlier that this is almost like a parody video titled "How Not to Pass a Law".
