Called a while ago, but Shuster hangs on 52-36.

I wonder what a Purdue vs. Kingston runoff will look like. I'd imagine Purdue will be slamming Kingston as a Washington insider, but what will Kingston's strategy be?

Kingston could run as the traditional conservative Southerner in the race, but that probably wouldn't help him make inroads in North Georgia.

Politico also calls the 2nd slot for Kingston.

Kingston could run as the traditional conservative Southerner in the race, but that probably wouldn't help him make inroads in North Georgia.

Simple:

"David Perude is a big-government liberal who wants to raise taxes(he said that revenue had to go up) and supports Obama's Common Core Agenda.  Don't let a liberal multimillionaire take Georgia's US Senate seat.  Instead, choose conservative Jack Kingston, ranked as the most conservative candidate by the National Journal."

EDIT:  Note in reality Perdue = Kingston on policy.  But Kingston's attacks on Perdue will be the same that they were before the runoff.

Interesting primary.

Now all we have to do is wait two years and then, when Isakson retires, we get to see it happen all over again!

NYT still doesn't have a call for GA. Handel would need to net at least 33K votes with 90% of Gwinnett still being out, 99% of DeKalb, 66% of Cobb and 50% of Fulton.

Disappointing - Handel would have almost certainly won this had the money been there. I am a bit surprised some conservative PACs didn't get involved more, though I imagine it is because they realize Perdue and Kingston aren't that bad and don't want to make more enemies than they have to.

If I had to guess I would say that Handel doesn't endorse. She has defined herself as the outsider (attacking Kingston) and the true conservative (attacking Perdue), so either way she looks hypocritical. I would lean more towards Kingston if she makes one, though.

Erickson, one of her top supporters, endorsed Kingston. Chamber will also provide air support for Kingston.

Almost 50% in for GA-11 and a runoff is looking imminent between Loudermilk (40%) and Barr (25%).

You know, I would like to see someone other than Isakson in that Senate seat. Then again, I'm not particularly favorable towards Georgia Republicans.

I'd like to see Perdue win this year and Kingston in 2016.

My grandfather's losing his seat in a primary challenge from a Tea Partier who wants to govern like "Jesus".

Could Kingston potentially attack Perdue from a populist/anti-elitist angle for his comment criticizing Karen Handel for not having a college degree and talking about the importance of spending time abroad?

Politico hasn't called the second slot for anyone yet. They have called the first slot for Perdue.

Statewide is up to 69% now, Perdue leads Kingston 30-27 with Handel at 21. Fulton is at 66% in, Gwinett is at 57% in, Dekalb is at 0.5% in, and Cobb was reset back to 1% in for some odd reason.

It looked like over 10% of the vote was already in there.  I wonder how.

AOS called for Wehby already.

46% in. That was quick.

Voting by mail has its advantages Wink

Wehby also carried Washington County fairly handily.

For democratic governor in OR, Kitzhaber is leading 89-11 over Diru with 1% in. For GOP Governor, Richardson is leading 64-10 over Charlestrom with 11% in.

12% in for Oregon Senate. Merkley has won the democratic nomination 95-3 over Berk. At this hour, Wehby leads Conger 57-30 for the GOP nomination.

71% in GA, still 30-27-21.

AR-04 getting close again. Moll back up to 47% with 63% in.

Moll cleaned up in Pine Bluff, but there still seems to be some pro-Westerman areas out.

I was thinking the same thing.

Except, I'd like Kingston this year and Perdue in 2016 Wink
