Here's a video of Cassidy talking to a LA GOP leadership meeting about the narrative he'd push in a runoff.

Some backstory about the cat fud between Maness and Cassidy at that meeting.

Dr. Edward Kryn (R) of Clayton is getting into the NC Senate primary. Notably, he's Canadian and said he wants to help make the GOP a "party of immigrants."

If by "party of immigrants", he means open borders/pro-amnesty, he might as well not even bother running.

Well, I have an announcement that I think is kinda cool.

Next Wednesday, I will be giving a radio interview. The program is called the Liberal Fix. One of the hosts asked me to come on as a guest and give my two cents worth on Congressional races in the south. Its should be a good show.

I'll post more stuff about it as we get closer.

Another candidate with connections of LSU football enters the LA-06 race. Trey Thomas, a black Republican and former LSU Tiger is entering.

Coincidentally, in NC, another black candidate is getting into another 6th district race:

Guilford County Commissioner Bruce Davis (D) is forming an exploratory committee in NC-06. He would give Laura Fjeld competition in the primary.

He's going for it.

On the Republican side, this race is looking awfully Guilford-heavy. Lots of lesser-known candidates are running from Greensboro, making it easier for Baby Berger, at least from a geographical standpoint.

Eh, I'm not really worried about LA-6. Unless you tell me otherwise. Wink

Yeah, its gonna be Claitor-Dietzel in the runoff, barring some major change.

Perkins isn't ruling anything out but doesn't sound interested either.

Sigh, this Perkins stuff has been lingering for almost a year now. I agree that other people are trying to get him involved where he might not necessarily be interested himself in these races.

To be perfectly honest, though, his record in the Senate would look a lot like Vitter's anyway Tongue In fact, last year at the March for Life, Vitter bragged about working with Perkins and Woody Jenkins on legislation.

'Ya know, I really like liking McAllister. But I guess I wasn't expecting him to endorse/help Landrieu, either.

Cassidy was notably the only Republican member of the delegation not to back Riser last fall. That neutrality may pay off for him:

I knew we'd have a pot candidate get in one of these races!

Thankfully, this guy sounds like almost the definition of a Some Dude.

The guy is from Pender County; maybe the party should talk him into dropping down to CD7.

Rouzer up in the NC-07 primary, likely thanks to name rec. 55-19 over White districtwide, and even 47-28 in Wilimington.

Also: WOW.

"I dunno. Mary has been in there for a while and has seniority. Why would we trade that for a freshman." After I said that, he kinda smiled at me slyly, like he'd figured me out. "Because next year, she'd be in the minority." When I said I still wasn't sure, he was like "We'll talk later." I guess that was politician code for "Okay, I've had enough!"

I was watching some old debates and Terrell tried that argument in 2002. Mary was also arguing seniority back then. Its worth watching at least the first few minutes of that runoff debate.

Leaving aside a freshman playing the seniority card. On another Pelican subject Dietzel is anti-capital punishment. Not totally surprised given his Paulist leanings on certain issues.

Miles: Was that the debate where Landrieu snapped that it would be Terrell's last campaign?

From what I can find it was, but apparently it was after the actual debate ended.
