Looks like most of the uncalled precincts are in the Orleans area, with only a few stragglers in the North and West yet to be finalized.

So Miles, do you think that these results show that the latest scandals have damaged Vitter?

I'd say so. If Vitter cleared 25% easily, that would have been a much worse sign for Edwards going into the runoff.

I guess it remains to be seen if Angelle and Dardenne endorse Vitter or simply decide to sit on their hands for that race.

Woah, something struck me hard. Edwards won Tangipahoa with 55%. Isn't it a pretty Republican parish?

He's from Tangipahoa, but still very impressive.

Looks like the only remaining parishes with potential to flip are Vernon, Terrebonne, Plaquemines, and Jefferson. Otherwise, the map is pretty much set.

Edwards really not doing well at all in Orleans County... I suspect he'll do much better there in the runoff.

Any thoughts on whether Dardenne or Angelle will endorse Vitter? It seemed unlikely after recent events...

Ah, yes. He's also performing pretty strongly in the areas around it too.

Could either of them possibly endorse Edwards? Maybe Dardenne?

We're mainly waiting on the rest of Orleans, Baton Rouge, and St Tammany. Overall, the rest of the votes should benefit Edwards and Dardenne.

Only nine more parishes to go, and only one more tossup (Terrebonne).

I suspect Angelle endorses Vitter, he probably wants to remain in the party's good graces. However, there is a strong possibility Dardenne endorses Edwards.
