It's basically over now. Trump played the democrats for over two years. This investigation backfired horribly for the democrats, they spent much of their political capitol on this, now they wont have any talking points about Russia in 2020. And the funny thing is, I and a whole bunch of other people already knew this way before, but we got called conspiracy theorists, trolls or Trump hacks.

Gosh, AG Barr, that's a rather partisan statement for someone from the DoJ. Unless you have some other way of knowing what's in the report, that is. :)

It is possible that the actual level of collusion was limited; Russia's stuff was done mostly independently and Trump knew very little about it. But he certainly did later on and tried to stymie the investigation.

SDNY would be the logical conclusion.

Highly unlikely given that neither would be in a position to know anything about what SDNY is investigating (the Stormy Daniels hush money payments and the ensuing cover-up).  Flynn's cooperation is already over and his sentencing was delayed at the request of Flynn's attorney rather than the U.S. government.  Gates is likely still cooperating with the probe into the Trump inauguration money and other probes that are not known to the public at this time.

Isn't SDNY also covering the inauguration?

I don’t think so, although I could be misremembering

It might be a different investigation under their purview.

I don't think it is; if memory serves, it's being handled by the U.S. Attorney's office for the Eastern District of Virginia.

You know when you get too excited for something, like Christmas or a birthday, and then when it's over you are sad?

That's liberals today.

Not quite. It's more like looking forward to Christmas because you think, without any real basis, that you are going to get that expensive toy and a puppy from Santa Claus. But then after waking up on Christmas morning you realize that you got nothing since your parents have been  dead and Santa Claus doesn't exist.

I am going to cherish the day when god awful citizens like you are totally irrelevant to the outcome of presidential elections — the day when a Democrat gets to 270 without Ohio.

Yeah, but they’ll settle down in a few days whereas you’ll still be an anti-Semitic racist.

Or at least, that's what your bratty older brother said, after shaking the box with your name on it.

Disregarding margins, Dems would get 350 EVs before winning Ohio. Not counting possible shifts in the last four years or elasticity (especially Iowa).

I want them to win without Florida too, for good measure.

It would be crazy for them to win Georgia, North Carolina, and perhaps Arizona. Still come short by 50,000 votes in Florida.

But any cover-up is as much a crime as the crime itself (except perhaps for murder and rape) in our legal system.

Are you kidding? This is Florida we're talking about. My state! It's a state where I take my dates to the local Waffle House to impress them, and it works!

They're probably just upset Barr didn't explain how awesomely innocent Trump really. But I'm sure that once the whole, unredacted report is available to the public we'll all be able to see the exact degree of Trump's derangement and criminal behavior innocence.

House panel authorizes subpoena for Robert Mueller's full report, setting up a fight with DOJ

Trump needs to thank the House Judiciary Committee for working so hard to make sure that the report exonerating him is seen by the public.
