Sherrod Brown 2020
Rebuild America.

Sherrod Brown addresses supporters on Super Tuesday: "Our time has come."

Delivered at 10:30 PM PT

Quote
Thank you so much! Thank you!

Let me thank Connie Schultz so much for joining me across this country to build a movement of ordinary working families who want to rebuild America's middle class and to make certain that our children and grandchildren have a country where they prosper. She has been so supportive of this campaign and I could not ask for a better best friend and wife. While not all of the results have come in, it looks like we are in a virtual tie in the state of California.

But even though the final results are not in, there is one thing we do not need them to know: Our time has come. Our movement is real. We are ready to rebuild America. Hundreds of miles across this country, in my hometown of Mansfield, Ohio, we proclaimed the beginning of this movement to once again make America's middle class the highest in prosperity and growth. What began as an unlikely bid to change Washington and take on Wall Street swept the cornfields and cities of Iowa, South Carolina, and now, Wyoming, Oklahoma, and Vermont, where ordinary working families of all ages, races, and incomes stood up in numbers we have never seen before.

They stood up because they saw the corruption of Washington D.C. They saw stagnant wages and rampant student loan debt while the cost of tuition, healthcare, and basic necessities rise. They saw the decline of the labor movement and jobs shift overseas. They saw endless regime change wars that spent trillions of our taxpayer dollars overseas. And they stood up and said that enough is enough. It is time to take the mantle of rebuilding America and build a country where the middle class isn't scraping by paycheck to paycheck. This year, this time, this moment, that is when we take back this country for the middle class rather than a wealthy few.

And today, on this Tuesday in March, in states North and South, East and West, what began as a whisper in the factory town of Mansfield has swelled to a chorus of millions who want real change from the status quo. It's a chorus that can no longer be ignored or deterred. It's because this campaign is different, not because me, because of you. Because people like you have donated millions collectively in one of the largest grassroots campaign in this countries history; you have stood up and demanded a minimum wage that you can live on; you have stood up and demanded that every hard-working family has access to healthcare, childcare, and a union in the workplace; you stood up and demanded that Washington work for us, not Wall Street and their lobbyists. Because so many of you have put your voice into this movement. You are what makes this movement different.

Let me take this moment to thank voters in Vermont, Oklahoma, and Wyoming for already delivering us victories in those states. Let me thank our voters in all the rest of the states and let me thank Governor Alex Sink and Senator John Kerry for waging a passionate, issue-oriented campaign. I congratulate them on their victories tonight. And while I have deep respect for them and still will after this campaign, there is a real choice this spring. It's a choice to cement the Democratic party as the party of the people with a grassroots campaign funded by hundreds of thousands, not the party of Wall Street. It's a choice between real campaign finance reform and real independence from Washington's corporate lobbyists and sticking with corporate PACs and ultra-rich funded campaigns. A party where we put issues like a $15 minimum wage, fair trade, worker's rights, equal pay, and real progressive action at the forefront.

As Martin Luther King once said, "Change does not roll in on the wheels of inevitability." And we've built this movement because real change doesn't take place on the guise of inevitability. Social security, medicare, labor laws, and civil rights; they didn't happen because it was 'inevitable,' they happened because working families organized, in union halls and church basements, to make our society fairer for all and to strengthen the middle class. And, tonight, people sent the entire country that message once again. You've showed up in droves to register. You showed up in droves to vote in several different states tonight. And just a few days ago, you sent the world a message, especially Wall Street, when we made history, pulling in the largest 24-hour fundraising haul in electoral history of more than $9 million with tens of thousands of individual donors.

We know that we have seen something happen over the last several weeks, over the past several months. We know that what began as a whisper has now swelled to a chorus that cannot be ignored that will not be deterred, that will ring out across this land as a hymn that will rebuild this nation. Whatever the results are tomorrow morning, we know that this movement is far from over. The coalition of working families we have formed is real and we are ready to take it to the other 39 contests across the country.

Let's get to work. Thank you, Los Angeles. Good night.

Phil Scott Ad #12: There's a Movement

To air in New York, Illinois, Connecticut, Maine, Virgin Islands, Indiana, and South Dakota

Quote

Narrator: There's a new hope on the horizon, a new sunrise.

From the smallest towns....

To the biggest cities.....

Americas work hard every day, they deserve leaders, they deserve service.

Phil Scott speech: We must govern with compassion, govern with respect. When we approach a problem, it can't be through a political lens.

Phil Scott Speech in Background: "Americans don't wake up at 5 and work hard till the evening so that partisan politicians will fail them!"

"Let's aspire to citizenship, let's serve the people, and work for everyone!"

"We can believe in this country. We can accomplish what's best about America and lift us all up..."

"When I look over the green mountains of Vermont, I don't see divisions. I don't see Republicans and Democrats, I don't see racial and cultural division. I see a country of many faces and people.

"When we realize that, when we realize we're more then just a country of divided peoples, when we realize that we're together, we're united. That's when people win, that's when we accomplish the beauty of America. That's what this movement is all about."

Voiceover: "I'm Phil Scott and I approve this message."

John Kerry 2020

Campaign Ad: Service

James Rassmann
Quote
John Kerry saved my life... I was thrown overboard, and John ordered his boat to turn around and pick me up, he reached out over the bow of his boat and picked me up out of the water. He deserved a helluva lot more than a Bronze Star. We were under fire, and he risked his own life to save mine. I can tell you that I wouldn't be here today without John Kerry.

John Kerry
Quote
I had already been wounded, and when James was thrown into the water we were under heavy fire from the NVA. He was trying to climb up the cargo net and he couldn't get up. So I got on my knees and lifted him over the bow. James was the real hero there.

James Rassman
Quote
John Kerry has been there, John Kerry has served, I know what I want in a President, and that is service. We lost brothers over there, and the men in Iraq and Afghanistan lost brothers there too. John Kerry is the only veteran in this field, on both sides of the aisle. If you want someone who knows what sacrifice is like, you'll vote for John Kerry. He sacrificed his body to save mine.

Quote
Im John Kerry and I approve this message...

NBC News Interview with Governor Phil Scott
March 6, 2020

Holt: Good evening. I'm Lester Holt, and I'm here with Governor Phil Scott of Vermont, one of the main contenders for the Republican presidential nomination this year. Phil, how are you tonight?

Scott: I'm good, Lester. Yourself?

Holt: I'm doing well, thanks. Now then, to business: Governor, after Super Tuesday, despite nearly 900 delegates being distributed, there’s still no clear frontrunner in the primary race overall. Do you have a plan for a possible contested convention?

Scott: Well I intend, and this campaign, this movement is about winning this nomination.  Winning it outright. And then winning the White House. This campaign is really spreading a new message, they we can aspire to a different kind of politics, politics of aspiration, of unity, and civility. That we can see the best of ourselves in our leaders, not our worst. And we can face the great challenges of our country. We can invest in our future, in our infrastructure, we can invest in the next generation of Americans, we can solve the opioid epidemic, bring spending under control, and end the deficit. We can do this, but we can't do it with the same kind of politics as before.

Holt: Like vaccines, prevention is the best strategy in this case. Now, some in the GOP have sparked fear of a potential Democratic “southern strategy” if you win the nomination; namely, that the Democrats will nominate a strong African-American vice president, such as Governor Abrams, and so drive up African-American turnout while you struggle to woo more socially conservative voters in the region. Do you have a counterstrategy to this?

Scott: I'm not gonna try to predict what the Democrats will do, I'll do what I'll do, and they'll do what they will do. If they campaign in the south, we'll campaign harder in the south. We are supported by many leaders, real leaders in the south, leaders for the future. Representative Brian Mast sacrificed both his legs for our country, Scott Taylor from Virginia was a Navy SEAL and served in Iraq, these are real leaders. For the future, and our campaign is about the future, and the best future possible for our children and grandchildren. I think Southerners will agree.

Holt: A promise of a brighter future to maintain party unity. Here’s a question I’m sure you’ve never heard on the news before: we’ve heard from basically everyone what their first 100 days will be like. What are you planning in the longer term?

Scott: That's a great question, Lester, and I think we gotta be looking at this in the long term. My campaign is about the issues, we're gonna go to Washington, break through partisan gridlock, and get stuff done for people. Finally get results for Americans. As a governor, I don't have time for establishment political point scoring. I get the roads cleared, I get a balanced budget passed, I keep the state safe, or I'm done. I don't get the luxury of Washington lobbyists and cash to keep me afloat. But my campaign is also about a much bigger picture. It's about fundamentally changing the way we lead, and the way we advance agendas in this country. Future generations will be better off, our environment will be cleaner, our businesses and our economy will be stronger, and more people will be at work, if we end partisan division, if we raise up a new generation of leaders who look for results, and accomplishment instead of political points and personal gain. I think then we will have conducted a great change, and brought the greatest qualities of this country.

Holt: Back to the golden days of working together on Capitol Hill. All this said, the Democratic primary is shaping up to be equally ruthless. How would you rank your potential opponents in the general election, from weakest to strongest?

Scott: That's a funny question, Lester, but I think that Democrats will nominate who they will. I think they're having a discussion of the issues, like us, I think all the candidates are respectable, kind, and well meaning individuals. Senator Kerry served our country valiantly, Senator Brown has served his constituents for many years, and Governor Sink is someone who cares about her state and community. But I think the Democrats are facing the challenges of our country from the wrong direction. In an election, I think I would beat all three, though I think that Senator Brown is the strongest Democrat, given his strong commitment to workers and disadvantaged Americans, though I disagree with his policy.

Holt: Governor Scott, thanks so much for being on.

Scott: My pleasure, Lester.

Holt: And that will be all for tonight. And remember, folks: if you live in Kansas, Maine, Louisiana, or the Virgin Islands, don't forget to vote in either of these utterly gridlocked primaries. Who knows? You might decide the whole thing. I've been Lester Holt, and thanks for tuning in.

Phil Scott for President

Phil Scott GOTV Effort for Maine

Phil

Governor Scott will be in Portland on the 7th. He will meet with volunteers at the local campaign office, where they will plan out a strategy to knock on doors and get their supporters out to vote. Phil Scott will host a major Meet and Greet with Governor Sununu and Baker, and will meet with Bill Cohen, where they will give a joint statement to the local press. Phil will spend the afternoon chatting with supporters outside polling places, walking the streets with a group of supporters, and organizing efforts to get supporters to the polls. He will retire to the Portland Marriot, where he will speak to supporters once results are clear.

Chris and Charlie

Governor Baker and Sununu will operate as a team in Portland on the day of the results. Governor Baker and Sununu will meet in the morning, meet with volunteers and go to local community centers to meet with last minute voters. They will hold a Meet and Greet with Governor Scott, and then will conclude the day meeting with volunteers outside of polling places, and coordinating with staff to get everyone out to vote.

Bill

Secretary Cohen will start the day at around noon, where he will give a joint statement with Governor Scott to Portland press, promoting his candidacy as a real leader who can bring America together to tackle its greatest challenges. He'll then go to the local Senior center to meet with those who fondly remember his time as Senator and Representative, and court them on the basis of Phil Scott protecting social security, and representing a bygone era of politics "where people respected each other."

Also Bill

Governor Weld will be in Lewiston, meeting with Soft-Libertarians and Amash supporters. As well as rural voters skeptical of Phil Scott. He's campaigning to portray Scott as an anti-establish outsider, as well as a small government Governor. He will emphasize Scott's support for farmers as Governor, and that Vermont is a farm state, Scott's opposition to tax hikes, and his support for cutting down on waste in defense contracts. He will meet with volunteers and hold several meet and greets throughout town to accomplish this.

Lisa Murkowski GOTV and Surrogate Schedule

Susan Collins

Senator Susan Collins joined Lisa Murkowski for a joint rally in Bangor before embarking on a rural tour of northern Maine, an area vital to her gown victories in the state. There, she spoke with supporters about Murkowski’s plan for rural America, her independent streak, and support of low taxes. Senator Collins rallied rural supporters, encouraging them to show up to the polls. On Election Day, Collins focused on her home town of Bangor, working with volunteers to encourage people to support Lisa Murkowski.

Kelly Ayotte

Senator Kelly Ayotte crossed over into Maine to support Lisa Murkowski. She spent her time primarily in Portland and its suburbs, focusing mostly on Murkowski’s independent record in the senate. Kelly Ayotte rallied volunteers in Portland, made phone calls, and canvassed in the days leading up to the primary, working to keep the momentum up in the city. On Election Day, Ayotte held signs and completed a canvassing shift before joining Murkowski in South Portland for the campaign’s watch party.

Olympia Snowe

Senator Murkowski spent Election Day in South Portland, meeting with suburban voters, primarily women, who had supported Susan Collins and Olympia Snowe, but had been swing voters at the presidential level. She held a rally in the morning, followed by canvassing, sign waving, and phone banking, in which she highlighted that her maverick nature made her a good fit for the state. Later in the day, she went back to her hotel to await the results before joining supporters at the watch party in South Portland.

Lisa Murkowski Runs Ad “Energy Bill” in LA, ME, KS, HI, MI, ID, MO, and OH

“Politicians in Washington only seem interested in talking about wedge issues meant to divide us. However, when I’ve spoken to voters, they all want to talk about kitchen table issues, things that unite us, concerns we share.”

“American families care about low taxes, opportunities for growth, and yes, keeping their energy bills down. That’s why my plan includes cutting taxes for the middle class, loosening restrictive regulations, and diversifying our energy portfolio.”

“Americans deserve to be able to heat and cool their home and business at an affordable cost, they deserve to be free of costly gas taxes, and they deserve to have the knowledge of where their energy is coming from.”

“I’m Lisa Murkowski and I support this message because America deserves low energy costs, supporting higher prosperity for us all.”

ALEX SINK AIRS AD, "FAMILY" IN ARIZONA, NEW MEXICO, COLORADO, OREGON, UTAH, ARKANSAS, MAINE, PUERTO RICO, GEORGIA, RHODE ISLAND, HAWAII, AND MINNESOTA

American Families are struggling. They're having to choose between either paying the bills, or feeding their families.

More than half of American Families, can't afford an emergency payment of $400. That isn't what this country was founded on, and it isn't what should be happening right now.

We can't let families argue over which bill to pay, and which nights they should have dinner. We have to take action, and it has to be taken now.

As Governor I implemented State Programs to create a Medicare for All System, and implemented Tuition-Free College in the State of Florida.

In Florida, we have a surplus in our budget, and we're rated the #3 growing state in the United States of America.

Let's stop forcing our families to choose what to pay for, and let's start changing what Washington will spend their money on.

I'm ready to take the stand against Higher Premiums, and Tuition Costs, and I'm ready to take this fight to the White House.

So, join me on this fight, and let's make real change. Together.

I'm Governor Alex Sink, and I approve this message.

So, due to the fact that I have to drive 150 miles back home later today, I'm going to post this a little early. This will also most likely be the case next week.

Election Night 2020
with your hosts, Lester Holt and Chuck Todd

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gyuAH0RWV4s&list=PL-fWJBYKsR_41IOcwGYpBDqw_H-o1c84q

Holt: Good evening. I'm Lester Holt.

Todd: And I'm Chuck Todd.

Holt: And we're here to bring you the results of the Kansas, Maine, Louisiana, and U.S. Virgin Islands primaries and caucuses.

Todd: We are, indeed, Lester, and we're going to follow the same format we used last week.

Holt: That's right, Chuck. We'll be reporting states in by poll closing, and announcing winners as soon as we can make a call. Final results will be listed at the end of the night.

Todd: Hold on to your hats, folks, for tonight's edition of Election Night in America!

Holt: And we're back, as it's now 7 PM in the east, and we can already make a projection.

ALEX SINK WINS THE VIRGIN ISLANDS DEMOCRATIC PRIMARY

Holt: An unsurprising victory for the Governor of Florida, considering she was the only one who campaigned there, but still nice to have in this early.

Todd: Indeed it is. The Republican race in the Virgin Islands is still too early to call at this time. Stay tuned.

JOHN KERRY WINS THE MAINE DEMOCRATIC PRIMARY

Todd: Kerry was favored in this state, but decided to shore it up with the endorsement of Representative Pingree, and it appears that has paid off tonight.

Holt: Indeed. Meanwhile, as with the Virgin Islands, the Republican race is too close, as both Senator Murkowski and Representative Amash attempt to make inroads into traditional Scott territory. Stay tuned.

SHERROD BROWN WINS THE KANSAS DEMOCRATIC PRIMARY

JOHN KERRY WINS THE LOUISIANA DEMOCRATIC PRIMARY

RICK SANTORUM WINS THE LOUISIANA REPUBLICAN PRIMARY

Todd: And so the Democratic races are finished almost before they started, while we still await the results in the GOP races in Maine, Kansas, and the Virgin Islands.

Holt: Indeed we do. Stay tuned.
