WHAT A NIGHT this has been!

First, the DMR poll shows Purple heart MAYOR PETE! Purple heart with a mega lead.

Second, the GOP supermajority in Louisiana is dead.

Third, JBE RE-ELECTED!

Champagne/regional drink of choice all round! An excellent night indeed!

When I'm right about 2020 I'll look like a genius
And when you’re not you’ll become a massive punchline here
I will be right . I understand politics better than anyone on here.

The 2019 governor elections are an absolute disaster for Trump and the Republicans. That's not really an arguable point.
the only thing that matters is 11.3.20

Tonight matters for redistricting after the census, and for protecting the Medicaid expansion.
I'm not against medicaid expansion
... but you support Rispone lol
how do you know ? I could care less about this race. I care about the presidential race and local and federal races in Michigan in 2020. Just cause I usually vote republican doesn't mean I'm 100 percent Republican down the line on every issue. That's the 1 percentile of voters who agree with everything their party does

You were posting minute by minute updates when Rispone was up so it seemed like you cared.

Glad to see pro-life Dems aren't completely dead yet. Smiley
It is Louisiana lol

Yes, and if JBE couldn't win in LA, there would be pretty much no hope anywhere.

Either this is extreme goalpost-moving or you think abortion is literally the only distinction between the parties. JBE is not a Progressive but calling him a DINO is silly.

To whomever asked if JBE could get to a 45K vote lead: It seems possible, based on the fact that he's ahead by 33K votes now, and the remaining precincts are in Baton Rouge and New Orleans.

Medicaid expansion, criminal justice reform and congressional redistricting are very important things for what its worth.

And even on social issues, he's still somewhat Dem.  He did sign that EO at the beginning of his first term protecting the LGBT community.

Owning the libs like you don't really care your party lost. JBE expanded Medicaid which is something a GOP Governor would not do, so he's definitely a Democrat.

TBF Kasich did it too. So did Sandoval, Mead and Branstad. Even PENCE did it while he was governor.

If he counts as a DINO, then I'd love to see Republican candidates pick up his platform of expanding healthcare coverage, raising the minimum wage, lowering college tuition, and criminal justice reform.

If Jim Hood could have motivated black turnout like JBE did, we might have witnessed a clean sweep this month.

I don't really blame Hood for that, since JBE had actual policy accomplishments (namely Medicaid) to use as a beacon to rally Black voters. Still, would've been delightful to see.

I still don't think he would have won. Mississippi Whites are a special brand of deplorable.
