Yeah I have a good feeling that if Bredesen wins, he'll vote to the right of the likes of Jones, McCaskill, and Nelson and maybe even Manchin.

It sucks to hear him say things like that, but I get it. He can't act like a Democratic partisan in a state that almost certainly supports Brett Kavanaugh by a big margin. The only thing that matters is if he makes Chuck Schumer (or at least a Democrat) majority leader, because no Democratic Senate Majority Leader would even give Kavanaugh a floor vote.

You think this is a game son

Bredesen loses support of major Super Democratic PAC - Priorities USA - due to announcing he'd support Kavanaugh. Threatens Manchin with same.

It is possible it might actually help him, losing support of a Dem superpac. He can then point to that and say it is evidence of how independent he is (and the DSCC will still help him anyway, and will make up for whatever Priorities USA pulls away by shifting its own spending to TN).

He never had their support to begin with.

LOL. So apparently Priorities USA wasn't spending anything in TN in the first place, so them "pulling their support" actually takes nothing away from Bredesen. Anyway, Bredesen is more than capable of paying for his own campaign.

I'm cautiously optimistic Blackburn will sneak through here in the end.

You seem to adhere to the view that every Democratic candidate should be an ideological purist, strictly abiding by the national platform. That won't work in a state such as this one. Candidates should have views that are within the range of those in the state or district in which they are campaigning.

You seem to adhere to being deliberately dense.

There's a difference between having ideological variation, and actively allowing people to support clearly unfit Judges like Kavanaugh. How anyone can be a Democrat, and put someone on the court who will A.) Who block Mueller B.) Gut Obamacare C.) Uphold Citizens United

Even a broad church needs walls.

Using your logic, people like Dov Hikind should have been expelled from the Democratic party for essentially acting like a Republican on most issues. But that doesn't seem anywhere near likely to happen.

I wish that I could remove my vote in this poll. Phil Bredesen is an idiot. He should have just kept his mouth shut.

I no longer support his campaign and he might win because some Republicans crossover but he has lost a significant chunk of his Democratic base.

Once again, Phil Bredesen is an idiot.

I think Bredesen is still using the playbook of an earlier era, where partisanship was less extreme (and SC justices were seldom opposed by more than 10% of Senators).

His strategy would be far less effective in today's environment.

I think he should heed Truman's words - people would vote for real Republicans over Democrats who act like Republicans.

Hasn’t Bredesen said during the first senate debate that he opposes Kavanaugh?

You should be very well aware of my dislike for ad hominem attacks, and at this point, I don't even deign to engage in conversation with those who employ them. You have earned a slot on my ignore list.

The Fundamentals working against Bredesen now 4 weeks until the Election. The Kavanaugh Drama has done one thing: Galvanize the Republican Base.

I don't care if he supports Kavanaugh or not.

Even the Nerds at 538 have Blackburn now as slight Favourite. Remember: Democrats had a good MidTerm year YET they still couldn't beat Corker in 2006.

This Race will probably be similar close to the Bob Corker vs Harold Ford Jr. Race with Blackburn winning.

Democrats need...

a) Republican crossover Votes
and
b) a complacent GOP Base to win

So much for the theory that Taylor Swift was an alt right Aryan princess which is why she never talked about politics, lol. Anyway...

Just looking more and more likely that Motormouth Marsha sends Bredesen to the Thompson/Bayh/Allen/Lingle/Kerrey/Pawlenty/Strickland retirement home/support group.

It's happening. Time to prepare Bredesen's initiation rites.
