Kasie Hunt presses Chris Murphy on whether he’ll run for prez in 2020 here:

https://twitter.com/KasieDC/status/970473274743427072

He initially gives a non-denial denial, then she presses again:

Which again, is a dodge.  Saying you “have no plans” doesn’t mean that you’re not going to end up doing it.

He would be a terrible general election candidate. he's too "elitist" and way too anti-gun for the rust belt and Midwest.

I mean I wouldn't call Murphy elitist he comes from a relatively middle class background is one of the poorer Senators but he does come from a 'elitist' state. I do agree his gun control obsession makes him a poor candidates for the type of states Dems need.

Murphy is young enough that he's got some chairmanships and such in his future. He's probably going to end up in the Dem Leadership in the senate too. He'd be dumb to give that up

Castro reiterates the decision timeline he suggested a few weeks ago....a decision on whether to run for president before the end of this year:

Maybe that means he'll be the next candidate to announce.  OTOH, I recall there being one or two 2016 candidates who said in 2014 they'd decide before the end of the year, but didn't announce until 2015.  I guess Castro could make the decision in 2018 (if he's not already made it) yet still not tell us what that decision is until 2019.

Here's video of TMZ trying to corner Flake on his purported presidential ambitions, and he just smiles and says "we'll see" repeatedly:

As someone who was born and raised in the elitist part of CT, CT is roughly 80% not an elitist haven. Basically once you get 2 miles off the shoreline or east of Old Saybrook, it basically functions like western Mass. And the coastal cities are pretty much your average run-of-the-mill post industrial towns, minus Yale.

I think if you gave Murphy a chance to connect on the national stage, he probably could. But I agree with earlier posters that think he wants Senate seniority.

He spent money to promote a tweet. He's not up for reelection in 2018. He has no reason to do this...unless he's building name rec for a presidential run.

I’ve seen quite of few Facebook ads from him asking for emails. He seems to be list building and there are various reasons why pols may want to do that.

Biden's going to do exactly what he did in 2016, which is leave everyone in suspense until the last possible minute (possibly days before the filing deadline for the New Hampshire Primary).

If he were to run in 2020 (which I hope he will), I don't think it would be wise to skip the Iowa caucuses.

He wouldn't skip Iowa.  But there's no filing deadline for caucuses, so he doesn't have to worry about that.  He could jump into the race one week before Iowa, and still get votes there.  But that's not the case for New Hampshire and other primary states, since they have ballot deadlines.

Warren spoke at a DNC dinner in Washington tonight, and announced that she’s donating $5000 to every state Democratic Party in the country:

Politico has a new story on Kamala Harris here, and she gives the standard evasion when asked about 2020:

Other fun things from the story: Like Gillibrand, Harris is willing to use curse words.  Here she is talking about her experience helping to potty train her niece:

Also, Diane Feinstein remains agnostic on the question of whether Harris would make a good president:

In other news, Tom Steyer will hold 30 town halls across the country on impeachment, including in the early primary states of Iowa, Nevada, and South Carolina:

I am not sure if Harris will really run she may think she's too green to go for it. Or may bow out to Booker/Warren, I have her at 50/50 on running, Warren 80/20, Booker/Gillibrand 99%.
