Establishing a 5-member elected commission with districts where gun permit applications are reviewed and can be accepted or rejected with infinite discretion.

In a state as Democratic as Maryland, this would equate to voters elect a majority rejection-in-all-cases group to the commission which means that guns would be banned completely in a way that is not in violation of the 2nd amendment.

Make it legal to keep and bear arms but make it illegal to manufacture, purchase or import them. So the right to keep and bear them is not infringed but you can't get them. Surprised somewhere hasn't tried that yet actually.

A ban on purchase would likely run afoul of the second amendment, but manufacture and customs regulations would likely be constitutional. It's easily the smartest way to subvert the spread of guns in this culture without being shut down in the courts or starting violence.

There's no proof that this had anything to do with a motivated Roy Moore supporter, let alone Moore himself.

That said, nothing surprises me these days.  My government has asked me to believe in the idea that a Lone Nut killed JFK in the manner described in the Warren Report.  It has asked me to believe the physically impossible path of Bullet 399.  I'm not willing to accuse folks without proof, but I'm not so naive as to think that the principles of covert actions aren't ever applied in local and state politics.  It was, after all, Allen Dulles, himself, who stated that the perfect covert operation remains a secret "from inception to eternity".

Bryce is a poor recruit largely due to his personal past - if the race becomes competitive Bryce would be shoved aside by Ryan due to his past. There are potentially better candidates here that still seem to symbolize the WWC.

No. However the environment and the districts geography means that the seat could be competitive. If dems get a better recruit, then perhaps it could be competitive. Bryce is a poor recruit largely due to his personal past - if the race becomes competitive Bryce would be shoved aside by Ryan due to his past. There are potentially better candidates here that still seem to symbolize the WWC.

He was late on his child support payments for 2 years and had to have the courts threaten to take his house for him to finally pay. As somebody who grew up with a single mom and a dad who never bothered to pay child support, I care. He's gross and even a slime like Paul Ryan is more worthy of being a congressman than him.

I wouldn't call a guy who's raised over $1.4 million in individual contributions a "meme candidate".

I honestly wasn't aware of him being a deadbeat dad, and I don't  agree with setting morals aside because someone fits an ideology I agree with. I can no longer support Bryce.

Why anyone would support Randy Bryce over Cathy Myers is beyond me.

Ryan will win if he runs. Ryan has been in the spotlight for years by now and he didn't lose a single election. He even got 65% in 2016 (and he also wasn't popular in 2016). Besides, being 2 years late with your child support isn't something to be proud of and I don't think (single) mothers or devoted fathers will see it as "being in touch with the American people". And didn't Bryce already lose like 3 races for lower office before?

I think they should for simple reasons:

It is morally wrong to force someone to assume responsibility for a child they did not want; by allowing either parent to put the child up for adoption without permission from the other parent; this situation is avoided.

A child is better off if they have 2 adults who wanted them as opposed to just 1; by putting the child up for adoption; every child is guaranteed that there will be 2 adults who appreciate them as opposed to just 1 adult.

Currently, there are far more couples who want to adopt a child; than there are children put up for adoption; by increasing the pool of children put up for adoption; fewer couples who want to adopt a child are left unable to do so.

If a child is taken away from someone who wanted it under such a system; no one is preventing them from trying to find a different partner who would be more interested in having a child with them; giving them a simple way to try again.

This is merely a symbolic gesture that was aimed at appeasing the "pro-life" crowd and driving up turnout among Evangelicals for the 2014 elections. It'll achieve nothing practical.
