Anyone know if the district is getting hammered with ads yet?

Teachers Union could break against Lipinski this weekend!

AFSCME however has remained with Lipinski, but it does appear that his grip on local labor groups is weakening.

As a resident, I've seen no ads yet, but we'll see.

That Emily's List endorsement is the most unshocking endorsement they have given so far in this election cycle. Why didn't they endorse Newman before?

SEIU is big. Expect PP might endorse within the next week.

Emily’s List never endorses a challenger against an incumbent Democrat. They don’t want to make enemies within the establishment, but I guess they’re anticipating that Lipinski won’t be a Congressman come next year.

This district will be a R pickup.

Marie Newman barely wins divisive primary through identity politics

Dan Lipinski runs a strong writein candidate

Holocaust denier R wins in a very narrow plurality with 34% of the vote because racist rural whites come out in full force.

Looks like whoever wins this primary is up against a Holocaust denier.

Screw it. If Newman pulls this out against Lipinski, SHE should run if Durbin retires in 2020. Not Bustos.

I’m starting to rethink my skepticism about Newman pulling this off. These orgs and unions wouldn’t risk angering the IL Dem machine for no reason

Newman can win this primary. No doubt about it.
Is it possible for Lipinski to replicate what Joe Lieberman did in 2006?

I don’t think any Congressman is well-known enough to win as a third party candidate.

I was thinking he might have an opening if the GOP candidate is a far-right nut and Illinois law would allow him to appear on the ballot.

I still think he wins. After all, Mark Pera in 2008 put up quite the strong campaign, along with multiple other candidates and Lipinski still prevailed with a majority. NARAL, Democracy for America were behind Pera and Lipinski didn't even raise much that year.

What would the Newman vs. Lipinski race hinge on?

So he would have to organize a massive write-in campaign?

Was just trying to quantify how much was riding on this primary. Newman is an abortionist who doesn't deserve to win.
