LOL Reagan clearly told in that campaign why America needed to be made great again. He said taxes were too high, government had gotten too big, the previous administrations seemed to be helpless to deal with inflation, and America was getting pushed around by our enemies .

Did you forget "welfare queens".

thats not racist and welfare was being abused before the Welfare Reform was passed in 1996(Heck Bill Clinton ran in 1992 on Welfare Reform)

Keep on the going lower, baby. The lower it goes it higher the midterm gains could go.

That’s exactly what Republicans said from 2009-2016. As for me, I’m hoping for another subprime mortgage crisis so prices are rock bottom when I’m ready to buy in another year or so.
You wouldn't care very much if they were Rs.

You're saying that the idea that groping can ruin people's lives is ridiculous.

Or giving his first post-convention speech, which included “states rights” rhetoric, in Philadelphia, Mississippi - a town whose only claim to notoriety is that it was the location of the murder of civil rights activists.

The Neshoba County Fair is a major event on the Mississippi political calendar. The fact that those murders took place in the same town over a decade before Reagan made his speech is coincidence more than anything.

a term Reagan isn't recorded as having used.  Reagan may have benefited from racism in some people's response to what he said but the woman Reagan was referring to was white.

I missed both the SOTU and the rebuttal, so I didn't vote in the poll. But, if Kennedy is anything like the rest of his family, then he gave a good speech - and if Trump is anything like Trump, his was awful and/or full of lies.

Personally, I'd like to see another Kennedy rise in American politics. The others in his family were very good public servants and did a lot to advance progress in this country; I have no doubt he'd do the same.

Top 3 Kennedy campaign contributors:

1. Goldman Sachs
2. Raytheon
3. Cardinal Health, the company that distributes opioids

I hope that curse still has some juice in it.

I was somewhat being metaphorical, because this would also be a perfect motto for a politician.

http://www.kansascity.com/news/local/news-columns-blogs/the-buzz/article197603534.html

During a speech to pastors in Kansas City in December, Missouri Attorney General Josh Hawley linked the problem of sex trafficking to the sexual revolution of the 1960s.

Hawley, the top Republican prospect to challenge Democratic incumbent Sen. Claire McCaskill in November, launched a new unit in the attorney general’s office focused on fighting human trafficking a few months into his first year in office.

During a speech at a “Pastors and Pews” event hosted by the Missouri Renewal Project, Hawley tied the issue to the sexual revolution, the cultural shift in the 1960s and 1970s that eliminated the social stigma for premarital sex and contraception that had been commonplace in the United States during previous decades.

“We have a human trafficking crisis in our state and in this city and in our country because people are willing to purchase women, young women, and treat them like commodities. There is a market for it. Why is there? Because our culture has completely lost its way. The sexual revolution has led to exploitation of women on a scale that we would never have imagined, never have imagined,” Hawley told the crowd in audio obtained by The Star this week.

Endorsed. (Though I wish he hadn't used the heterosexual crutch, I can accept it.)

If the media attempts to make a scandal out of this, Hawley will benefit. This is a position extreme enough to be endorsed in the editorial pages of The Atlantic, New York Times, and Washington Post. This is standard third-wave feminism, and his statement addressing the leak (in the article above) is perfect:

Hawley’s campaign spokeswoman, Kelli Ford, said the candidate’s comments about the links between trafficking and the sexual revolution do not need clarification.

“Attorney General Hawley has spoken at length about this, so I’m not sure what part was unclear,” Ford said in an email.

“We now have a sex trafficking epidemic because too many men view women as objects for their own gratification and control. Hollywood and the media have promoted this attitude for decades, and it is wrong,” she said. “Attorney General Hawley regularly challenges audiences to get serious about sex trafficking by getting serious about changing male attitudes toward women, so that all women are treated with respect, equality, and dignity.”

It would not surprise me if Hawley's campaign leaked this themselves, given how well they've spun it.

I wonder when jfern will start filling in for Hannity and Tucker Carlson.

Why are the brown avatars so committed to minimising the Russia story?

Because only a garbage political party starts a new cold war to distract people from the Wikileaks documents showing that they rigged the primary and suck.

Haven't people learned from "Fitzmas" and Hillary's e-mail investigation that the most powerful people never get indicted?

Kasich. He promotes himself as a reasonable Republican then promotes a far right wing abortion bill. He's just as bad as all the other slimy Republicans.
Just because someone isn't moderate about abortion doesn't mean that they are not overall a moderate. I'm moderate and I am against abortion.
He's not a moderate. In fact, Moderate Republicans have gone extinct.
Yeah, Susan Collins and Charlie Baker are fake news!

EVERYTHING is about race/sex. Everything.

Remember kids, it's OK for white males to refer to themselves as "the next president" or whatever, but not OK when women or minorities do it.

If you don't think race plays some factor (in fairness, it's probably subconscious more often than not) in the True Leftist rage against Kamala Harris (2nd most progressive Senator) and Cory Booker (3rd most progressive senator), you're willfully ignorant.
